IMPORTANT NOTICE (Feb. 19th)

The submission format of S&T Full papers has been changed from the TVCG standard format to the TVCG special issue format which is the same as IEEE VR format since Feb. 19th. The biggest difference to the previous template is the size of fonts. The new format increases the amount of text about +20% per page. Please make sure to use the new template listed below. Sorry for your inconvenience.


Papers must be formatted the following guidelines.

Submission Guidelines for S&T Full Papers

ISMAR Full Papers must be submitted electrically to PCS https://precisionconference.com/~ismar. The ISMAR Full Papers will use the journal style template. You can download templates for the format. Please note that the use of a teaser image in papers is encouraged.

Page Length:

  • 8-10 pages

Size and Margins:

It is very important to follow these margins exactly or you run the risk of loosing text when the final paper is produced at a smaller trim size.

  • Paper Size: 8.5 inches by 11.0 inches (21.59cm by 27.94cm)
  • Top Margin: 0.75 inch (1.905 cm)
  • Bottom Margin: 0.625 inch (1.5875 cm)
  • Inside Margin: 0.75 inch (1.905 cm)
  • Outside Margin: 0.625 inch (1.5875 cm)
  • Columns: Two (2) columns, each 3.48 inches (8.8392 cm) wide
  • Column Gutter: 0.17 inches (0.4318 cm) column gutter

Images:

  • Teaser images are allowed and encouraged. Please do not include any other images/graphs/charts on the first page of your paper and try to place all other images in one of the four corners of your pages, if possible.

Header:

  • Please do NOT include headers in your paper. We will automate these for you with the appropriate information.

Title:

  • Title Text: 18pt Helvetica, centered
  • Capitalize the first letter of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs; do not capitalize articles, coordinate conjunctions, or prepositions (unless the title begins with such a word).

Author Information and Affiliation:

  • Author Names: 10pt Helvetica, centered
  • Author Information is specified in a comma separated list, the last one being attached with ', and'. If only two authors are given simply separate them with a single 'and'. IEEE Members should be indicated by appending 'Member, IEEE' or 'Student Member, IEEE', whichever applies.
  • Author Affiliation should be 8pt Times or Times New Roman and contact information is provided as a list in a separate footnote at the bottom of the first page in the left column. Please insert punctuation at the end of each item. Please include each author's name, affiliation, and e-mail address, in bullet form.

Abstract:

  • Justified, indented an extra 0.33 inches from main Body text of paper on inside and outside margins.
  • word "Abstract": 8pt Helvetica, bold, justified, NOT numbered
  • Body Text: up to 3 in. (7.62 cm) long.
  • Abstract must be 1 paragraph; any paper with multiple paragraphs will be returned for correction.

Index Terms:

  • Justified, indented an extra 0.33 inches from main Body text of paper on inside and outside margins.
  • word "Index Terms": 8pt Helvetica, bold, justified, NOT numbered
  • Please capitalize the first word in the list, separating the words with commas, and ending the list with proper punctuation.
  • A list of relevant index terms should be included after the abstract.
  • Please think of these as being written in the style of Keywords, instead of the traditional ACM Index Terms (Looking at the sample PDF, might be of help.)
  • Leave one blank line after Index terms

Diamond Rule:

  • Insert Diamond Rule after Index Terms, centered

Headings:

  • Section Headings: 9pt Helvetica, bold, flush left, numbered, small caps

Caption Text:

  • figures and tables must be numbered separately
  • figure captions are to be flush left BELOW the figures, please number each figure in the following manner: 'Fig.#.', followed by the title, using the appropriate punctuation; capitalize the first word of each sentence in the figure caption.
  • table titles are to be centered ABOVE the tables; Capitalize the first letter of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs; do not capitalize articles, coordinate conjunctions, or prepositions (unless the title begins with such a word) of each figure caption.

Acknowledgments:

  • word "ACKNOWLEDGMENTS": 9pt Helvetica, bold, flush left, NOT numbered, small caps

Capitalize the second word in compound words if it is a noun or proper adjective or the words have equal weight (Cross-Reference, Run-Time).
  • Leave two blank lines after the title.

Author Information and Affiliation:

  • Author Names: 10pt Helvetica (or Arial), centered.
  • Multiple authors: multiple columns.
  • Affiliation should include full names, company / institution identification, and email addresses.
  • Affiliations are centered below each author name in 8pt, not bold.
  • Include e-mail addresses as a footnote with a horizontal rule above the footnote area.
  • Follow the author information by two blank lines before main text.

Copyright Space:

  • A 0.5 inch (1.18 cm) space must be left at the bottom of the left column on the first page of the paper for the copyright information added during the printing process.

Abstract:

  • The word "ABSTRACT": 9pt Helvetica (or Arial), bold, flush left, NOT numbered, small caps, abstract content begins on a new line.
  • Body Text: 9pt Times or Times Roman, justified on 10pt leading; up to 3 in. (7.62 cm) long. Leave one blank line after the abstract.

Keywords:

  • The word "Keywords": 9pt Times or Times Roman, bold, flush left, NOT numbered.
  • Body Text: 9pt Times or Times Roman, justified on 10pt leading
  • Capitalize the first letter of the first keyword.
  • Include a period (.) at the end of the keywords.

Caption Text:

  • Capitalize only the first word of each figure caption.
  • Capitalize in sentence case for a table title/caption; try to limit the table captions to a simple title and not a full description.
  • Figures and tables must be numbered separately and should be labelled 'Figure:' or 'Table:' (note the use of a colon NOT a period).
  • Figure captions are to be centered below the figures. When the caption expands across mulitple lines, it should become flush left.
  • Table titles/captions are to be centered above the tables.

Acknowledgments:

  • word "ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS": 9pt Helvetica (or Arial), bold, flush left, NOT numbered, small caps
  • Body Text: 9pt Times or Times Roman, justified on 10pt leading
  • In the USA, it is spelled ‘acknowledgments’, without the ‘e’ after the ‘g’. Since the IEEE is a USA based society, we would recommend having it spelled ‘acknowledgments’ and have done that in our template. However, for the rest of the world, we will not correct it in conference papers - we also spell it ‘acknowledgements’ with an ‘e’ after the ‘g’.

Citations and References:

  • word "REFERENCES": 9pt Helvetica (or Arial), bold, flush left, NOT numbered, small caps
  • Body Text: 9pt Times or Times Roman, justified on 10pt leading
  • List of references: 8pt Times or Times Roman on 9.5pt leading
